Frequently Asked Questions...

What is the process of getting a Six Mile Creek Puppy? Once all of your questions are answered, I ask for the reserve form to be filled out from the Puppy Info page and the reserve deposit to be submitted. When these two things are received, I will then add you to the reserve list with the date beside your name that these two things were received. How will I know when I am eligible for a litter? As litters arrive, I will reach out via email to the families in a chronological first come first serve order and compile a group of families ready to adopt the available puppies. At this point we will know the number of puppies, the genders and the colors available, and families will know the picking order they are at in the group. This does take a few days to a week in order to allow for families to get back to me and also decide if timing is ideal for them to receive a puppy! What if the gender or color of puppy is not available that I prefer? Families have the option to bump to a future litter if the gender, color or timing of re homing is not available to them. What if I decide I no longer want a puppy? Deposits are never refunded, but options of waiting for a future litter is available. What if I bump to a future litter and price increases for a puppy? If there is a price raise in puppies with a future litter, the family that has opted to bump will be expected to pay the current price of a puppy. Once a litter is born when do we choose our puppy? When the list of families is set for a given litter, an informative email will be sent out giving the open house date for choosing your puppy either in person or via virtual viewing. Typically this date is set when pups are 5 weeks old. All the families will be given a time slot to choose their puppy. Where do I go to view updated photos of the litter? I love photographing my litters, so you will have weekly updates posted to social media accounts to show the growth and development of the puppies. I will always try to post a video to help show personality, and a write up of the personality traits I have noticed. When is pick up day? Puppies are re homed at 8 weeks old after they have seen a licensed veterinarian. They will receive a microchip, immunization, and multiple de wormers to maintain their health at Six Mile.

Travel Tips

Come prepared with collar and leash, puppy training pads, travel crate with extra blanket, chew toy, and water dish. Bring items to plan for soiling or stomach upset ie: plastic bag, wet wipes. Avoid giving puppy treats or kibble in the vehicle. Only offer water in travel. Pup will need to have potty break when he/she wakes up from naps or approx every 2-3 hours. Initial whining in crate for 5-10 min is normal and pup should settle for a sleep. Pup will settle for nap quicker in a crate rather than being held, but either is fine for travel.
